The Deputy Minister for Communications and Transport, Dr Maua Daftrati, said on Saturday that, the ICT industry would play a critical role in helping local businesses become globally competitive and that the national policy was put in place in 2003 to address key issues that needed attention to realise the benefits of ICT.
