Serikali imejipanga kuhakikisha inafanya maboresho katika bandari zake zote kwa kujenga miundombinu ya kisasa ili kuhakikisha wanaimarisha shughuli za usafirishaji ili kufikia ndoto ya uchumi wa kati.
Ahadi hiyo imetolewa na Katibu Mkuu Wizara ya Ujenzi, Mawasiliano na Uchukuzi, Mhandisi Joseph Nyamuhanga, wakati wa ufunguzi wa kivuko cha MV Pangani pamoja na gati, uliofanyika wilayani Pangani juzi. |

Jacob ambaye pia ni Diwani wa Ubungo, aliwaambia waandishi wa habari Dar es Salaam jana kuwa mradi huo ulikuwa umefadhiliwa na Manispaa ya Hamburg kwa gharama ya Sh bilioni 3.5. Ulitarajiwa kukamilika Juni mwakani. |

Hali hiyo imekuja baada ya Serikali kupitia Mamlaka ya Usimamizi na Udhibiti wa Mifuko ya Hifadhi ya Jamii (SSRA), kuandaa muswada wa mabadiliko ya Sheria ya Mifuko ya Hifadhi ya Jamii ambao kwa sasa upo katika hatua za mwisho, huku ikielezwa kuondolewa kwa fao la kujitoa na badala yake kuletwa fao la kutokuwa na ajira. |

HEADS of State of the East African Community (EAC) have delayed the signing of the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) with the European Union (EU) for three months pending further consultations over the pact.
The leaders of the block have directed the EAC Secretariat to communicate to EU over the decision that was reached at the 17th Extraordinary Summit held in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Europe has been pushing for the signing of the free trade pact by the EAC member states on October 1, 2016. Tanzania exclusively maintained on Wednesday that it would not append its signature on the agreement until the country’s demands that focus on the best interests of the people were met. |

Public and stakeholders that security at all refugee camps in the country is optimal and regular patrols are conducted by police in coordination with the refugees.
The government statement comes in response to media reports that purport the government of Burundi is attempting to recruit the refugees from the camps.
On February 5, Al Jazeera published a report saying the Burundian refugees are living in fear of their government’s militia who are hiding in the camps and attempting to recruit them. |

President Magufuli pledge gives Judiciary 12bn/- |

The Ministry of Finance and Planning yesterday handed over 12.3bn/- to the judiciary in fulfillment of President Dr John Magufuli’s pledge made last Thursday when commemorating the Law Day.
The fund aims at helping the judiciary address various challenges it faces including handling of backlog cases and dispensing justice on time.
“We have fulfilled the promise made by the president, it is our hope that the funds will be properly used by implementing the expected goals,” the Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Philip Mpango said when handing over the dummy cheque. On his part, Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Amon Mpanju expressed his gratitude to President Magufuli for fulfilling his promise on time. |
