Distance Learning Masters scholarships for African women
The deadline for applications to be received in our office is Monday May 28th 2007

An exciting opportunity has been offered by the UK Commonwealth Scholarships Commission to join an internationally recognised, cutting edge masters' programme and to become part of a community of learning and practice in Education for Sustainability (EFS). If eligible (see below), you are advised to apply as soon as possible. The deadline for applications to be received in our office is Monday May 28th 2007.

The EFS programme at LSBU has over 12 years of experience working with practitioners to build capacity in education for sustainability. The programme was set up in 1994 as the result of an innovative collaboration between a consortium of development and environmental non governmental organisations and the university. Participants have been drawn from a wide range of backgrounds, professions and geographical regions and many graduates have gone on to become key change makers in their fields and to take up influential positions in
key organisations. (Check out our website www.lsbu.ac.uk/efs)

We are currently looking for applicants who are working in African Commonwealth countries, who are in leadership or potential leadership roles in their organisation and who are interested in becoming part of a community of practice in EFS. We especially welcome female applicants and our aim is to recruit at least 10 female scholars. (We also encourage applicants to apply in a small group where possible so that you can support each other in your studies). Please note that these are full funded scholarships for distance learning which will
enable you to continue in employment while taking the course. For successful applicants, funding will cover all the costs of tutoring, assessment, study guides and readers, together with a travel grant for attendance at the Introductory week.
