FinScope Tanzania is the first national survey of the demand for and barriers to accessing financial services. The study was funded by the Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSDT) which is intended to harmonize efforts by different partners towards financial sector deepening. Making financial markets work, especially for the poor, calls for practical solutions and a compelling case for collaboration between the private sector, government and development partners. Financial sector development and access to finance are parallel processes and both need private initiatives and political will.
