African women and friends, working towards the independence of African people so that African people will not have to be dependent on any other people. We are a part of building African Women's and Youth Movements, which includes a vision of having our own collective childcare, housing, kitchens, transportation, and employment. Because we understand that Africa is our home(even though some of us may not have been born in Africa)and that charity begins at home, we feel a sense of responsibility to do what we can to help at home. We choose women because of the work that women have been doing historically in society as the base of society. We are organizing conferences throughout the U.S.

Our projects have been, "Support for Eritrea", "Pennies for Angola" and currently "Pennies for Zimbabwe."

We chose these places because of the work that our Sisters have done as examples towards independence, unity, and self-reliance. We continue to collect pennies to buy seeds and tools for the women and youth farmers in Zimbabwe.
