Micronutrient deficiencies are more widespread and have far greater impacts on health, productivity, and learning capacity than previously understood. Interventions have been developed to address micronutrient deficiencies, including fortification, supplementation, and dietary diversification. However, prevalence rates of these deficiencies continue to be high in many countries and regions around the world, often because of difficulties in implementing the interventions. |
