8. Tujifunze: Centre Information Technology

  Tujifunze: Centre Information Technology was founded in 2004 to provide support for women and children through the use of information technology in Tanzania’s lake zone. The organization’s mission is “to enhance cooperation and participation among the deprived urban/rural communities” through advocacy for “appropriate utilization of Information, Communication, and Technology among marginalized groups, including the disabled, elderly, orphans, and widows.”
 
9. Huruma Rehabilitation Programme
  Sunday, May 9, 2004  
  The Huruma Rehabilitation Programme is an organization based in Shinyanga, Tanzania. Reverend Dustan Matuta founded it in 1994 in order to help marginalized women within the community. The mission of the organization is to improve the women's standard of living and their goal is to see that women in the project are treated with love, respect, and courtesy.
 
10. Center for Women and Childrens Rights (HISANI)
  Sunday, May 9, 2004  
  HISANI was founded in 1998 by three women and two men, and currently has seven staff members and ten organizational members. HISANI works to provide and support women and children who are disadvantaged and neglected by the state. HISANI's mission is to "build the capacity of the local community to contribute to the advocacy of human rights for women and children in Tanzania." Visit the link above.
