District Natural Resources Management Project
The project aims at an enhanced enabling environment for sustainable Natural Resources Management by the communities in the three districts. Emphasis is given to capacity building of district and community institutions and services, enabling them to better plan, finance and implement policies and strategies in the field of natural resources management.

Saadani Conservation and Development Programme
The governmental protective authorities, the bufferzone communities and other stakeholders should together protect the Saadani ecosystem and utilise it in a sustainable way. It is expected that by achieving this project goal biodiversity will be promoted. In particular wildlife populations will recover. The villages will increasingly benefit from tourism and other sustainable resource use There are plans to upgrade the reserve or part of it into a National Park. Selous Conservation Programme
During the 1980’s the rapid increase in poaching for ivory and rhino horn led to a catastrophic decline in Tanzania’s elephant and rhino populations. The Government of Tanzania approached the international community for assistance in initiating programmes to conserve its wildlife resources, and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany responded to this request and agreed to include the joint ‘Selous Conservation Programme’ (SCP) in their bilateral cooperation agreement....

Programme Katavi-Rukwa Conservation and Development
The objectives of the programme are the conservation of biodiversity and natural resources in Katavi-Rukwa, by enabling the people in the buffer zone to derive sustainable benefits from the ecosystem. To contribute to the achievement of the objectives, TANAPA (Tanzania National Parks), the Wildlife Division and the local communities have to manage the resources in the Katavi-Rukwa conservation complex sustainable.
