Established in 1994, Mninga Carving Arts is a private small-scale workshop that is specialised in the manufacture of old-heritage furniture and other wood products.

The manager, Mr. Fanuel Salaba, hopes to preserve the past while at the same time putting together innovative and en vogue crafts to suit modern tastes and trends.

Door designs for example are a replica of those recovered at historical sites such as Kilwa, Bagamoyo, Unguja and Mombasa. Furniture with flower decorations are also manufactured at the workshop to meet the needs of modern society.

We are committed to preserving our old-heritage art and craft designs but also to educating the society on early African civilisation.
