,Tanzania ,Members of Parliament share knowledge accross Africa using ICT

The videoconference held at Tanzania Global Development Learning Centre, IFM , linking over 105 Members of Parliament across Africa, gave Members of Parliament an opportunity to follow proceedings of a regional conference session on “Scaling up Parliamentary Efforts for Children and AIDS” that was held in Cape Town, South Africa. During the session Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs (Special Advisor to UN Secretary General Koffi Annan) and representatives of the United Nations Development Program and the World Bank addressed the Members of Parliament.

The purpose of the conference was to enhance the capacity of Members of Parliament to advocate for the prioritization of issues related to HIV/AIDS and children in national policies and legislation. Members of Parliament were challenged to set as a priority saving lives of ailing women and children by utilizing available global resources transparently.
