The Tanzania Development Gateway (TzDG) is an Internet
portal that provides and promotes on-line networking, sharing,
exchange and dissemination of knowledge, ideas and information
on development matters. It provides a unique platform for broad
collaborations among Tanzanians, as well as with other existing
Country Gateways. The Mission
of the TzDG is to bridge the digital divide for Tanzanian
knowledge-sharing networks by facilitating partnership, networking,
sharing and exchanging of knowledge and other resources. Products
and Services offered by the Gateway include the Tanzania
Business Portal, Tanzania Civil Society database,
Tanzania Projects database, Tanzania
E-Women Net, Tanzania Indigenous Knowledge
and in partnership with SWOPNet, the Tanzania News
Clearing House. These products and services act as
a Catalyst for e-business; facilitate Knowledge sharing and
improve Local capacity building, Public sector transparency
and Aid effectiveness for development.
