  The response to the Believe-Begin-Become business plan writing competition that was that was launched three months ago for local entrepreneurs has been overwhelming, organizers have confirmed.
The organizing institution, TechnoServe, invited over the weekend 400 winning applicants to a one day entrepreneurship seminar in Arusha and Dar es Salaam centres, to equip them with entrepreneurial skills crucial for designing winning business plans.

Kavuma entered the competition for journalists with articles on Uganda's performance on the Millennium Development Goals.
 
96. Local financial firm secures billions from IFC

  The International Finance Corporation (IFC) will invest USD 20 million (approx.21bn) into Blue Financial Services to boost its lending and insurance businesses. The support coming from this private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group would be split equally between equity and a senior debt facility.
