106. Education ministry beefs up student loans kitty

  THE government will this year provide loans to some 69,442 students in higher learning institutions, for which it has set aside 117bn/-. The Minister for Education and Vocational Training, Prof. Jumanne Maghembe, said this in Parliament yesterday, adding that a further 80.3bn/-would be parcelled out to loan seekers during the second half of the financial year.
 
107. Deaf Child Worldwide's Small Grants Programme

  Deaf Child Worldwide is announcing the 7th round of Small Grants Programme with which it aims to have an impact on the lives of deaf children, their families, service providers and policy makers by establishing quality partnerships with locally-based organisations. We fund one to three year projects up to £10,000 per year. The deadline for completed concept notes is 30 May 2008 for projects with a start date of January 2009.
 
108. Tanzania secures more scholarships from Indian Government

  The government of India has increased the number of scholarships to Tanzanians. Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said the increase was made in response to a request by Vice-President Dr Ali Mohamed Shein who is on an official tour of India.

skills. The new manual advises on how to create a Junior Farmer Field and Life School to educate children on how to create sustainable livelihoods and long-term food security.

He was studying at the school under the Community Based Education of Tanzania (COBET) was the winner of the regional competition last year and also second at national level.
