Financial Times among sponsors of IT exhibitions |

The Business Connexion company and the African Information Technologies, Exhibitions and Conferences (AITEC) have signed a sponsorship agreement for information technology (IT) exhibitions organised by financial institutions in Dar es Salaam.
The AITEC financial institution exhibitions and respective conferences will kick off at Movenpick Royal Palm hotel in Dar es Salaam next Friday.
The General Manager of the Business Connexion Paul Nilsen and Event Director of the AITEC Harry Hare represented their companies at the signing ceremony which was held at the Morani house in the city at the weekend. |

Regional e-Government Framework |

The first e-Government workshop was held in Dar ed Salaam in November 2004 and another in Nairobi in June 2005. Between these two meetings, UNECA offered support of a consultant to develop a Draft Regional e-Government framework for East Afica. This report looks at the current EA e-Government status in relation to policy frameworks, applications, infrastructure and human resources. The document finally proposes a framework that will facilitate a significant increse in ICT infrastructure investment at the National level. |

Sengerama was selected because of the existing telecentre which was initiated by COSTECH. Because of the existing ICT infrastructure, the possibility of getting different inputs compared to places without telecentres was expected, but this was not the case.
