1. Kupanda Project targets to improve girl’s education
  Monday, February 15, 2016  
  Speaking during the launching ceremony, the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Mr Magesa Mulongo, said that the government was committed to continue supporting strongly the project so as to make it sustainable and extend it throughout the region.

“We know development partners have joined the government to support in various projects but the new programme is a crucial one for the national prosperity,” he said.

The Kupanda project is a project that aims at empowering young women through education and to improve the overall living standards for all Tanzanians by improving household income and health services.

5. The impact of AIDS on the national economy: the case of women labour force in Tanzania

  Infection with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and the Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) epidemic in Africa has received considerable attention by epidemiologists and demographers, as well as health economists concerned with the sectoral impact of the disease. Given the alarming prevalence of this deadly disease in Africa ‘modelling’ the macroeconomic impact of AIDS becomes imperative.
 
6. Accessibility of Resources by Gender: Morogoro Case
  Wednesday, June 21, 2006  
  In a study conducted in Morogoro, Tanzania, on the roles of women in household food security and accessibility of resources by gender was investigated. Results showed that lack of access to capital, lack of decision making power and limited agriculture knowledge constrained womens contribution to household food security. Recommendations were made from this study, including involving women in decision-making and improving their accessibility to resources.
