Kupanda Project targets to improve girl’s education |

Speaking during the launching ceremony, the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Mr Magesa Mulongo, said that the government was committed to continue supporting strongly the project so as to make it sustainable and extend it throughout the region.
“We know development partners have joined the government to support in various projects but the new programme is a crucial one for the national prosperity,” he said.
The Kupanda project is a project that aims at empowering young women through education and to improve the overall living standards for all Tanzanians by improving household income and health services. |

In a study conducted in Morogoro, Tanzania, on the roles of women in household food security and accessibility of resources by gender was investigated. Results showed that lack of access to capital, lack of decision making power and limited agriculture knowledge constrained womens contribution to household food security. Recommendations were made from this study, including involving women in decision-making and improving their accessibility to resources. |
