Numerous governmental ministries are involved in implementing the Fund. |

In 2002, the community development colleges conducted training at certificate and diploma levels. A total of 100 community development professionals graduated at certificate level. Out of those professionals, 78 were females and 22 males. At the diploma level, 63 community development professionals graduated constituting 37 females and 26 males. The Department for Women and Children was established in 1985 in the Ministry of Community Development, Women and Children, on the Mainland, with the mandate to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Women and Development Policy, specifically addressing: ways and means of reducing women's workloads, improving their health and increasing productivity; promoting education and training; identifying strategies for women's economic empowerment; advocating the development of gender-sensitive statistics; and ensuring that women's experiences and concerns are more fully integrated into the planning process and that adequate resources are allocated for such issues.Open the link above. |

The Commonwealth Association of Polytechnics in Africa (CAPA) launched the Women in Technical Education (WITED) project in 1988 as regional project for promoting the integration of women in Technical Education, vocational training and related careers.
